1999 IAZ NATIONAL AWARDS

CITY OF HARARE, WILKINS HOSPITAL GENITO URINARY AND DERMATOLOGY CLINICS

This GUC and Dermatology Clinic was the first diagnostic and treatment centre of its kind to be constructed in southern Africa. Comprising male and female Genito Urinary and Dermatological units and testing laboratories, the complex also includes training and conferencing facilities for more than 200 delegates hosting symposiums whose attendees come from across the continent. In 1999 it became synonymous with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare’s ‘New Start’ programme for HIV testing and counselling.
