PRIVATE RESIDENCE, HIGHLANDS, HARARE, ZIMBABWE

A significant residence built on a sloping four acre site in Harare's northern suburbs constructed on 5 levels with formal living, dining, office, study, bar, library and kitchens at ground floor level and family and guest bedrooms at 1st floor level.  A snooker room is located over the garaging whilst a gym and squash court are ‘buried’ beneath the swimming pool entertainment area.

The face bricks used in construction were all hand made from the Banket area, some 90kms west of Harare. The 'Brosley' roof tiles were individually hand made by Zimtile in Harare.  The handmade floor tiles were manufactured by Gwaai River Pottery, Dete.

Architectural services included full architectural design, working drawings and schedules; co-ordination of structural and electrical engineering services; detail design of the exposed timber roof trusses, timber kitchen conservatory, hardwood doors and built-in wall panelling; and on site contract management.
